Networking continues to be the #1 most effective way to land your new job. If you are not adding someone new to your network every day, you are limiting you chances of finding your next opportunity. You never know who can open the right door for you.

When you read the newspaper, go to the Business Section of the Paper and look for job leads "within" the articles. Often articles can reveal what companies are cutting back, which are expanding and also provide you with inside information you can use when you contact this company.

Also register with Google Reader and set up Google Alerts on topics that could help your search. These alerts provide you with current information that could also assist your search.
