First of all, let me wish you a Happy New Year. As we move into the new year, here's hoping we all see improvements on the horizon. Let's hope 2010 has to be better than 2009 for our Industry Sectors. Over the holidays, there didn't seem to be a lot of news out there, but I did read a couple items. 1. Whirlpool will reopen Ohio Factory: Appliance maker Whirlpool Corp. says it will reopen a northern Ohio factory that was shut down when a Canadian company announced it could not find a buyer. Read More: http://tinyurl.com/ygx4w7z
2. Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers Prepares Verification Program: AHAM intends to launch a third-party industry verification program to verify manufacturer energy ratings for refrigerators and freezers. Read More: http://tinyurl.com/yfakcrp
3. Nine Companies Receive AHR Expo Innovation Award: Nine companies have been named as the winners of the eighth annual AHR Expo Innovation Awards. All nine companies will be recognized at the awards ceremony on Tuesday, Jan. 26 at 1 p.m. in the New Product Technology Theater A at the show.
